This post is long over do but here is the info on FRAGfinity 6 and how it will be different from our previous lans. FRAGfinity 6 will be something of an experiment, we will be hosting a longer party and trying a team-based tournament for the firt time.

• Type:   4 player (minumum) Team Based Tournament (Console and PC Games)

• Length:   About 40 hours

• Entrance Fee: $15.00 - Before: 6/12/09, $25.00 - After 6/12/09 or At-The-Door

Teams:

The biggest change to FRAGfinity this time will be the change in tournament structure. In the past we have stuck with an individual tournament structure but this time will we will  be hosting a Team-based tournament. The first thing you should note is that instead of hosting a seperate PC and console tournament we will be combining them into one event. This means that you should include in your team players who are good at both PC and Console gaming. Furthermore we will be bringing RockBand into this singal tournament as well. Teams can be any size you like but we will never require more than 4 players in any given game. We recomend that you have a team size of between 4 and 6 players. For example, you could include 4 PC gamers and 2 Console gamers to keep the team balanced. 

If you do not have a team please feel free to post in the forums and ask to join an existing team or simply put "provisional" in the Team Name field when you register and we will match you with others who are looking for a team.

Games:

We will be including 3 PC Games, a Console Game, and RockBand 2 in the tournament this year. Games will be run as double elimination tournaments where possible, if time becomes an issue we will run a game as a single elimination tournament seeded based on the results of previous tournaments. 

Tournament Games will be:

• Counter Strike: Source
• Team Fortress 2
•  Left 4 Dead

Length:

Totaling just over 40 hours this will be the longest lan party the FRAGfinity has ever hosted. We are interested to see how this affects attendance and when people arrive/leave. Our previous lan parties generally started about Noon on Saturday and ended in the afternoon on Sunday. This time slot seemed to be a bit awkward and needed to be either shortened or lengthened, so we will be trying a longer lan party this year. Due to the length of the lan party you may wish to bring with you sleeping accommodations such as air mattresses, sleeping bags or Cots, this is fine. We will have a room set aside for sleeping so you can crash any time you wish.

Food:

Since the lan party will be considerably longer this year we will be providing more meals. As part of your entrance fee we will be providing breakfast,  lunch and dinner on Saturday. The menu will be Pancakes for breakfast, cold cuts for lunch and pizza for dinner.  As usual you are welcome to go out to eat or bring your own food as you prefer. 

Prizes:

Due to the team based nature of the tournament this year we will not have individual prizes for the tournament as at previous events. We will instead have some VERY nice awards for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranking teams in the tournament. We ill also have an award for FRAGfinity MVP which will go to the player we feel displayed the greatest skill in the tournament. As usual we will still have door prizes and sponsor prizes to give out.
