Hear Ye! Hear Ye! FRAGfinity has had to make a minor location change due to overlap with a Red-Cross training session. We will now be located at the CCA High School building in the main cafeteria / MP area. For those unfamiliar with the area this is the new building about 1/4 mile to the West of our old location.
We will be using the multipurpose area and it should work very well for our needs. Please show the same respect for the new building that you have all shown for the West Campus building in the past. We use these facilities at the whim of the CCA school district and we do not wish to loose the privilege.
The building looks like this:

After a few meetings we have hashed out the basic info for FF8 and decided to change focus a bit and put more effort and time into our summer lan and to make the winter lan a more laid back affair. So this year FF8 will be a one-man team tournament style similar to our past lans. We are also introducing an FF n00b discount shamelessly stolen from De-FRAG. If you bring a n00b to the lan you both will get 50% off your admission fee!.
FF8 Info:
Cost: $15 pre-register, $25 after June 13th (50% off with a n00b!) Cost = FREE !
How to register:
Registration is now open for FF8 simply select Registration on the left menu and pick FRAGfinity 8 from the event list. We don't have any way of giving the n00b discount via paypal so if you want to pre-register with a n00b just select pay at the door and make sure to fill in your n00bs name in the box. Please make sure that you n00b pre-registers as well and you both get in for only $7.50!
While the event is now free we do still want people to register, this gives us a better idea of how many people to expect for tournaments, insurance and so on.
Parental Permission Form:
If you will be under 18 on June 18th please print out the parental permission form here: FF_Rules_and_permission_form.pdf have your parents look over the form and rules and bring the signed form with you to the party. If you or your parents have any questions please contact us via the forums or send an email to
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
FF8 Games:
This is where you come in as usual! Please visit the forums and tell us which games you would like to see at the event! We will also be hosting something for the console players out there so console suggestions are need as well! There are also forums up for questions, and other suggestions. |

The FRAGfinity admin's have gotten together and decided to make quite a large change to the lan party. In the past we have always sought to recoup some of the cost of running the LAN by charging an entrance fee. It does not really cost a lot of money to host the lan but we do pay for insurance, food, prizes and a whole host of power and networking equipment. We have never really come very close to breaking even with the party (nobody host lan parties like ours to make money after all) but when you get right down to it, the cost of the party split between 5 admins amounts to a fairly cheap hobby. Having considered this and in the hopes of being able to boost attendance, introduce new people to the lan culture and focus more on putting together a great party we have decided to drop the entrance fee for FRAGfinity.
Dropping the entrance fee means that we will also no longer be providing food during the lan, we will likely still have some of your favorite energy drinks and snacks on hand at as fair a price as we can manage, and we are more then willing to help organize group pizza orders and the like. There are a number of nearby food options and as always you are welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic drinks and food. We will still be providing sponsored tournament prizes, as well as awards for the tournament winners.
IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PREPAID:
If you have already prepaid we will be refunding the full amount of your registration costs shortly.
If you have any questions about this change in direction please post in the forums. |
